Heat Walks Against Me

"Ice age comin',Ice age comin',Throw 'em in the fire, Throw 'en in the fire, Throw 'em on, We're not scare-mongering, This is really happening, happening, We're not scare-mongering, This is really happening, happening, Mobiles squirking, Mobiles chirping, Take the money and run"

The next few weeks will see the beginings of my academic research life. My module on the Renaissance is centered upon original research, something that doesn't usually happen till the dissertation next year. Research is exciting, because it allows me to pursue ideas that I enjoy and am interested in. Therefore this project will be a fusion of literature and theology and I aim to look at the role of the doctrine of salvation on Renaissance literature and the implications of faith and politics on martyrdom in my two essays. That means i'll actually have a reason to talk about the doctrine of election for once... which my housemate, after six months of work, now holds too!! Sweet.

On another note, I watched 21 grams last night, an excellent film that I encourage anyone to watch. Despite the suggestive title its not about drugs and stars Sean Penn, Naomi Watts and Benici Del Torro (who looks like a distorted Brad Pitt).

This year has so far been rather hectic, time has truely flown by and i've just finished my fifth week of lectures in Semester 2... scary. My blogging has somewhat suffered due to the rather bizzare lifestyle I now... 'enjoy'... My week generally consists of me having nearly all my lectures on Mondays and Tuesdays aswell ass Ultimate Frisbee training, International Cafe and Christianity Explored (i'm running it) which generally means that by Wednesday i'm completely knackered and in need of a good lie in... but oh no! Wed morning means Exec prayer meeting at 8 which again knackers me out... but at least makes me do a small amount of the huge volume of work I need to do. So then on to Thursdays... Doh! thats my work day (as in paid work) so its up at seven... which means that by Friday I am so thoroughly tired that it take a very long lie in and most of the weekend to recover, only to start the whole process again... I really feel like my life is a wheel at the moment.

But anyway, its generally still quite fun.

In other news... I gave blood last week for the first time, a rather good achievment for me seen as i was quite terrified, and my friend Nez came to give me support which was well needed! I've also made a lot of progress on my anthology which i'm still hoping to produce by the summer. I now have a total of 65 credibal poems which I need to whittle down to 38. I've made most of the Editorial decisions needed (at least for the moment- they'll probably change) so I can announce that the anthologies title will be The Artful Dodger and will contain ten photographic images by myself and someone else. So yes, thats pretty much it. I hope to get it published by the summer... possibly a tad ambitious so we'll see. Anyway, off for some lunch now- do have a good day and enjoy the snow.
